Come, relax and enjoy the peaceful, country environment of this uniquely built Straw Cottage.    Built from traditional straw bale construction in year 2000 the cottage has all modern conveniences and is furnished in an understated yet luxurious style for comfort and seclusion. 

You will be greeted with blueberry muffins, freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh ground coffee. Your every need has been catered for and the cottage will be exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.

The cottage is a perfect holiday destination, for discerning couples, honeymooners, families or for business people who wish to escape the city confines.  We cater for short or long term stay. 

Order a sumptuous breakfast hamper and enjoy al fresco in the private courtyard with stunning country scenery all around. 

The Last Straw Cottage is self contained luxury accommodation, close to Nelson city & airport (20 mins), Richmond (10 mins).

Duvets, spare woollen blankets, high quality linen & towels (also beach towels),  bathrobes & slippers, main bedroom has its own TV & Broadband internet access, electric blankets, oil heater, fan heaters, phone ports in two rooms upstairs

 Living Area 

Cosy open fire with plenty of firewood available and oil heater if you don’t like to use the fire.

DVD, CD, Video player with a selection of CD’s and Video’s, phone available but for local use only, has restrictions for toll calls

Bookcase with a selection of books and plenty of magazines and games

Full facilities allowing guests to self cater including a small amount of pantry supplies, complimentary tea, coffee (ground and plunger), freshly squeezed orange juice, milk and blueberry muffins available on your arrival.  Continental breakfast provisions will be left in the pantry if you have ordered them. Underfloor heating, Fridge/Freezer.  Iron & ironing board, dryer, washing machine.

 Bathroom 

Large claw foot bath big enough for two, shower, separate toilet.  Toiletries and Egyptian cotton towels.  Hair dryer and shaving mirror and sockets.

Highchair, cot, linen, toys, outside sandpit and large garden to explore.

Pets are allowed but outside only, we have two kennels for dogs, stables and paddocks for horses
